About DRK Assistance

More than 40 years of experience and dedication

The German Red Cross Air Ambulance Service, which was founded in 1976, has evacuated thousands of patients around the world. Today, we are a full-service assistance company working for more than 300 companies worldwide and, of course, assisting Red Cross delegates around the world. Our team of dedicated, specially trained dispatchers at the 24/7 Medical Operation Center (MOC) in Düsseldorf, our medical specialists, paramedics and nurses offer patients the best possible services. In the last four decades much has changed in modern aero-medical services. We now use a state-of-the-art computer system at the MOC which is geared towards our very specific needs, and top-level medical equipment – with respirators that even work when no oxygen is provided. But in all these years, there is one thing that has not changed: the dedication and commitment of everyone involved in providing these services. Our medical directors are excellent examples. Four of them joined us over 20 years ago, and they continue to be passionate about what they do.

Ground ambulance transport

Our focus is not limited to air services. With 700 dedicated vehicles and ambulances at more than 150 locations throughout Germany, we are the country’s biggest provider of ground ambulance transports. We organise transport services from all locations within Germany – including airports – and transports in all neighbouring countries.
